On what turned out to be
The last cold night of March
I saw a silver prow
Of moon sailing in the pines.
(Icy, resinous breeze. Apricot light.)
And thought of you, long buried,
And what you’d say, if anything.
A mainsail of moon. The wind filling the pines.
